My work is arranged most recent to who knows when. I've tried to be very detailed with each quilt in citing the pattern used and any particular fabrics. My kids are great helpers with the photographing! This is not my complete gallery but gives you an idea of the work that I do.
Tail End
Pattern: placement of half-square triangles chevron block using the method from the Missouri Star Quilt Co.
Fabric: solids for the front and "Nimbus in Navy" by Eloise Renouf for Cloud 9 fabrics on the back.
Remi's Quilt
I used a variety of fabrics and didn't record all of them. The colors are very different from the pattern and so it was helpful to print the pattern schematic blank (in my case, with no color ink!) and then color in the ribbons myself to make sure they came together correctly.
The back side is tumbler blocks with sashing. Template used by Natalie Dawn for Missouri Star Quilt Co.
Art was provided by my sister-in-law Denise Gasser -- she's amazing!!! I traced over it onto the white fabric using a light box and fabric markers.
Moonlight
Pattern: Star Light by Gerri Robinson in McCall's Quilting, June 2005
I wish I had a better picture close up -- the background fabrics are all text and music. The back is a gray and white cross-hatch fabric.
Something New
Pattern: my own
The floral is a sheet from IKEA that I fell in love with. I quilted the quilt in 3 pieces, 2 floral and the gray "cathedral window" strip, then bound the 3 pieces together using the quilt as you go method.
Dancing Dragonflies x2
Block pattern: Dance of the Dragonflies by Southwind Designs
Aaron's Quilt
Pattern: Sparkler Quilt by Freshly Pieced Modern Patterns (scaled down)
The back is a fantastic aviation print - Out N' About by Caleb Gray Studio for Robert Kaufman
Grey's Quilt
That's not baby Grey though but I was trying to keep it from blowing away apparently!
Pattern -- my own
The back design idea was taken from a picture of a quilt in a shop featured in a magazine.
Conference Quilt #1
So named because it is entirely hand pieced and hand quilted over the space of many years while watching LDS General Conference!! The pattern was based on an Amish quilt that I saw in Colorado!
Liam's Quilt
No pattern -- just lots of half-square triangles
The back was my first attempt at Flying Geese and I only regret not moving it over just a little bit more. The print fabrics on the back are "Architextures" by Carolyn Friedlander for Robert Kaufman and are a nod to my brother who is an architect (and are also awesome fabrics!).
Pirate Pants
So named because it was a gift for my brother who cut off his pants in high school so that they were jagged at the ends and looked like pirate pants!! This design is a lot easier than it looks.
Lesson learned I think, the back should have the stripe going the other way . . .
Playtime
Pattern: Playtime (with template) by Kariepatch Designs
Art Gallery for Project Linus
Art Gallery Fabrics offered up scrap bags once upon a time with finished quilts to be returned and donated to Project Linus. I hope it found a good home!!
